Issues Facing Currituck County

There are many issues threatening the future of Currituck County and the future of our children, from rapid growth, inadequate facilities, and increased traffic on our roads, to the over crowding of our schools which aren’t accredited. It’s time we started making an investment not only in the future of Currituck, but the future of our children. Our schools NEED to be accredited, we need smart CONTROLLED growth, and we need to look into improving both our water, drainage and sewage infrastructure.

As a Commissioner, I will work closely with the Board of Education to improve the relationship between the Commissioners and the BOE. A good relationship between the two boards is essential to getting our schools accredited. I will work with county staff and developers to work towards a common goal of responsible growth, and I will appoint community advisers to help bridge the communication gap between the citizens and the Commissioners.
