Former name of the community/village now known as “Moyock“. Located in NW Currituck County, in Moyock Township.
Possibly derived from the extensive trade, during the 1700/1800’s, in cypress and juniper shingles, which were shipped by water on Moyock Run (Shingle Landing Creek), to the Northwest River.
