Northeastern NC is experiencing a wintry mix of precipitation, ranging from rain and wind along coastal areas, including Sandbridge, Carova Beach, Knotts Island, Corolla, Duck and points south, and those areas adjacent to the Currituck and Albemarle Sounds; to snowfall at inland locations, such as Moyock, South Mills, Elizabeth City, Hertford, Edenton, Gatesville, and Ahoskie.
The area remains under a Winter Weather Warning issue by the National Weather Service office in Wakefield, VA – until 7 am Friday, February 21.
Precipitation is expected to change over to all snow by morning, with slight accumulation along the coast and area sounds; and greater accumulations for inland areas.
