Shawboro, NC – Andrew Reid Connell, age 78, of N. Marshall Road, Shawboro, NC died Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Born in Paisley, Scotland on January 25, 1941 to the late William Connell and Ina McCabe Connell, he was the husband of Catherine Carey Connell. Mr. Connell served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy for 24 years and worked as a Chief Engineer with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by ten children, two sisters, and twenty- five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with military honors rendered. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Connell family.
