Hall campaign totally self-funded; McCord donations total $5,596
Christy McCord (Moyock) , who is challenging two term incumbent Register of deeds Denise Hall (Moyock) outraised the incumbent $5,596 to $2,411 (Hall).
Donations to the Candidates
McCord’s campaign donors included:
- Kevin McCord, spouse – $4,600
- H. Kim Old, Moyock Realtor – $500
- C. Shay Balance, Jarvisburg Realtor – $200
- Unnamed donors – 4 x $49 – $196
McCord’s spouse, Kevin, list his occupation as owner of McCord’s Landscaping. Additionally he is employeed as a sergeant with the Currituck County Sheriff Department, and serving as At Large County Commissioner.
Hall’s campaign was completely self funded, for the total $2,411.88 in contributions.
Note: Individual donations were not listed for Candidate Hall, as they were all self-donation. Denise Hall’s spouse / occupation was not listed because the campaign finance reports do not indicate that Mike Hall contributed to his wife’s campaign.
Candidate Expenditures
McCord’s expenditures totaled $5,690, including:
- $3193 for signs
- $572 for shirts / apparel
- $558 for campaign filing fee
- $424 for embroidery supplies
- $456 to Sweetpea Designs for promotional items
- $331 for gas
- $78 to Vistaprint for cards
McCord is owner of Sweetpea Designs in Moyock, a shop providing gifts and personalized apparel.
Hall’s expenditures included:
- $1033 for new signs
- $600 for an add in The Shopper
- $558 for campaign filing fee
- $220 to John Snowden for business cards
- $100 for reuse of old signs
When asked about the expenditure for new signs, Hall indicated that a significant number of older signs placed in January had “disappeared” or were vandalized.
