Challenger Steven Craddock has raised $3,745 in donations, while spending $2,220.
According to first quarter campaign report filings, Craddock received donations from:
- Tracy Swain of South Mills (Timber) – $1500
- Curtis Shay Ballance of Jarvisburg (Real Estate Agent) – $500
- James Ferebee of Shawboro (Retired, Real Estate & Developer) – $400
- Sumit Gupta of Kill Devil Hills (CEO of SAGA Construction) – $300
- Joey Coppersmith of Moyock (General Contractor) – $250
- H. Kim Old of Moyock (Real Estate Broker) – $200
- Ed Cornet of Corolla (Management Consultant) – $100
- Brian Rudo of Churches Island (Retired) – $100
- Tina Craddock of Grandy (Professor, ECSU & Spouse) – $100
- James L. Markert of Coinjock (Retired) – $50
- Sybil O’Neal of Maple (Owner, Currituck Sports) – $50
- Elizabeth White of Corolla (International Advisor – World Bank Group) – $25
- Steven Craddock – $170 in kind for website and sign hardware
$1,650 of the total $3,745 in contributions came from the real estate / construction segment. One donation of $1,500 came from Tracy Swain of Swain & Temple Logging Company in South Mills.
Craddock claimed an in-kind donation to his campaign for $170 in signs and hardware, and a $100 donation from his spouse, Tina Craddock.
Update: When contacted for comment regarding the donations made to his campaign, Craddock responded, “like I said before, I am not tied into anyone. I think that is what scares some of the current incumbents.” He continued, “I don’t mind being the only yes vote or the only no vote. Sometimes that’s the way it happens when you stand up for what you believe is right. ”
“That is the advantage of being an appraiser and not a real estate agent is that we are independent of everyone including the banks.” When asked how to categorize the donations, Craddock replied, “most of my donations have come from friends or clients that have worked with me before and know what kind of guy I am.” Craddock thanked me for the opportunity to respond in this article.
Craddock’s Expenditures
Craddock’s expenditures include:
- Neighborhood Signs for signs – $1457
- Lowes for sign posts – $404
- Vistaprint for Business Cards and car signs – $310
- anedot.com for credit card processing – $95
- Supplies – $92
- Bank Fees – $15
Under Contributions to be reimbursed, the report indicates that Craddock loaned his campaign $1000 for signs.
Jarvis’ Campaign Financials
Jarvis’ financials indicate that she had a 4th quarter 2019 expenditure of $982 – keeping her campaign beneath the $1000 campaign filing threshold.
Jarvis’ Donations
When asked about campaign donations, Jarvis indicated that her campaign was self financed.
Jarvis’ Expenditures
Fourth quarter 2019 expenditures were $982 for signs and sign hardware. First quarter 2020 expenditures were $530.44 – for an expenditure total of $1,512.44. Jarvis indicated in an interview, that the additional expense is because of a mis-spelling on her original sign order, which resulted in having to re-order signs. She indicated via text message the following overall expenditures:
