Currituck County, NC – Matthew Lee Nelson was born just two days late for Christmas in 1990 and left to join his late father Timmy LeRoy Nelson Jr. at the age of 31 on the 6th day of October 2022. His Mother, Lorenda Armstrong Lee, Stepfather Steven Lee, Sister, Candie, and husband Joseph Edwards, nephews Timmy Wayne Nelson, Joseph Lee Edwards Jr., Niece Nevaeh Marie Edwards, as well as Matt’s Uncle Richard and his wife Stephanie Nelson all now in mourning, loved him very deeply.
Matthew loved fishing, a life-long passion, and though he favored the Nags Head fishing pier, any water would do. When he was forced to land, he enjoyed making it look a bit nicer with his talent at landscaping, or at times tinkering with small motors and the various things they are used on. His Grandparents, Timmy Nelson Sr. and Addie Nelson were happy to witness their Grandson reunited with his daddy as they all now watch over those still here.
A service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on October 18, 2022 at the Veterans’ Memorial Park, 132 Coinjock Canal Road, Coinjock, NC 27923. A reception will follow at the same location.
